Fundraising for St Andrew’s Parish Centre

The Next Steps: With the opening of the new Parish Centre on 4th December, all eyes are now upon bringing the new facility into full use, as an integral part of parish life. A good number of celebratory and festive events have taken place already, but now that we have all the policies and procedures for booking and using the hall sorted out, we can begin to make full use of it. We plan to advertise the opportunities for parish and local community groups to hire the Centre for a nominal charge. If you wish to book the Parish Centre for an event, whether you are a member of the Parish or a member of the local community, you should follow the procedure laid out here.

Mgr Ted wrote to Parishioners when the Archbishop blessed the new hall on 4th December: “Of course, [building the Parish Centre at St Andrew’s] represents the culmination of a huge amount of work by a lot of people over a number of years. It also demonstrates the generosity of parishioners, friends and sponsors who have made donations to enable us to take the work forward. The Diocese too, has been a steady and committed supporter and other parishes have loaned us money to enable building work to get underway. Similarly, some parishioners have made loans and others standing orders to provide the project with a regular income over a number of years.  We have done well to garner all this support to get the Parish Centre built so quickly. It will have an immediate impact on the life of the Parish. But we must remember that all the loans will have to be paid back as soon as possible before it is really ours. We must now turn our attention to paying off all our debts.”

A new committee: Mgr Ted also launched a new Fundraising Committee to lead the Parish’s efforts in paying off our debts. You will find the membership of the Fundraising Committee here, and further details of fundraising plans and latest event and appeals. If you wish to make a donation or have an idea for a fundraising event, please contact any of the Fundraising Committee members or the chairman, Roger Styles on 01233 861445 (raj@styles.myzen.co.uk) or Steve Tidd on 01580 761124 (stephen.tidd@gmail.com).

The Committee needs your help, whether it is with ideas for others to implement or through sponsoring an event yourself, or by making a donation, if that is more convenient for you so contact us if you think you can help.
