There is a small active cemetery around the church, which was the burial place of Catholics from Tenterden and the local area for some years.
Saint Teresa’s was linked to Tenterden, sharing the same priest until the retirement of Father John Hagreen.
Originally, both churches were in the Archdiocese of Southwark. Even after the creation of the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton on May 28th 1965, this remained the case until the retirement of Father John Hagreen.
This church is now served from Our Lady Immaculate and Saint Michael Church in Battle, East Sussex.
We will prepare for Lent this year in fine style with a parish Mardi Gras celebration on Sunday 3rd March. It will be in the form of a “bring and share” lunch held in the Parish Centre, after the Sunday morning mass at 12.00 noon.
Bring your own suggestions of food and drink and we will provide the rest. All the details are on the noticeboard in the church porch. Please sign up and help make it a jolly affair.
At mass on Saturday at 6.00pm, or on Sunday at 08.30 or 10.30am. For weekday services, please see the latest newsletter.
